Violations: W.T.H.?!?, More is NOT Less
We're suprised that Christmas is even allowed here considering how many grandmas have been run over by reindeer.

I agree, get a life and so something with your time.
BTW, love your google ads on your site for inflatable Santas.
Merry Christmas, Nazi.
I think it looks nice.
Packer Country - The ads probably help sponsor the work. Google ads look at the content of a page, and issue out the ads based on that alone. However- being a fan of the lights displayed, and a TACKY owner myself- I am glad that the ads fit the site so well. I'm also so happy that you like it, Stalin.
I agree that most of these pictures are tacky, but the owner of this site needs to find something better to do than to demean others! My, what a disgraceful person! I hope she finds the spirit of Christmas somehow. It really is too bad we have people in this world such as this one.......How tacky.
in Iraq you probably cant have displays, so move there if thats what you want. Pathetic
You should be required to do a tour of duty in Iraq if you want to waste all of this energy. In WWII, there was something called rationing. Now, we just waste, waste, waste while soldiers die. It's despicable.
oh look.. another whinerbag.. i guess this webmaster (or shall i say bloggite (i hate blogs seriously) )))) is the type that whines xmas is commercial and also claims it's over 2000 years old?
anyways, uglychristmaslights is the original, you're just a follower.
stop the bandwidth waste, we don't need yet another moan and groan about something is great and fun.
what unhappiness in the world? go to iraq.
keep the anger and agnst there while the rest of us spread joy and merriment.
duh.
This is just horrible that you just can't let the kids enjoy the lights. Have a Very Merry Christmas!!!
My kids love houses like this. I think the people who take the time to take these photos and up loading to this site really needs to get a life. I believe the people who line in THEIR home should be able to do as THEY please with what ever kind of holiday decor they wish. I do not celebrate Halloween, but do I host a site to "rag" those who do.
Okay.
You obviously have no life, and think that your pun-filled violations are funny.
Get a life, and stop ruining christmas.
I guess these homes all need an HGTV christmas decor makeover! Seriously, what is the purpose of a website like this???
I love over-the-top displays. I don't see them as often anymore, and it makes me sad. I used to send out of map (in my Christmas cards)of the neighborhoods with the most lights. Some of the long-term traditional areas have been lost when new people moved in and spoiled the cheer. At least, thankfully, I hear a lot more people saying "Merry Christmas!" this year. I work retail, and I still say it.
Wow. What a Grinch. Let the Christmas decorations be. They are bringing someone joy, and in this time of war and other societal problems a little joy should be welcomed and not vilified.
got her mentioned in wall street journal, so i say.. good job. anyway why waste your time posting hateful comments on a blog? i'm sure you've all motivated her to remove the site and embrace tackyness...
It looks like a lot of people let their children help with deciding what decorations to put up and where they should go (awesome people). So a few are tacky. I still love the whole idea of them. They are fun and my children and grand children have always loved houses like these. I would suggest a time limit (like 11 P.M.) for lights and music to be turned off. Other then that I hope people ignore the person who started this site and keep decorating. :)
u know what peace out 2 diego u rock that is what i am talking about
What the hell is wrong with all you people?! You can't find anything else better to do with your lives then diss people's christmas stuff? Granted, it may be tacky, but the last time I check, this was a free country.
Is this site a joke?
I love Christmas lights I take my children to see them every chance we get, my baby calls them "tee tee wites" and he gets really dissapointed when we turn onto a street that is dark. In my family Christmas is dedicated to our children and since most children love lights I say put them everywhere you can we are only kids once and I think when we get older any chance should be taken to nurture our inner child! Please remember that during the holiday season it was more fun when you were a kid so act like one and enjoy the holidays!
is true some people over decorate but i think is just stupid for people to complain about them and think your all just jealous cause your to damn poor to do it yourself so you gotta whine and cry about others who do
Pretty sad that you people have nothing better to do with your time. "Get a life" one says, maybe you should do the same. Its truly amazing to see that someone dedicates their time to a site like this - go out and ring a bell or work in a kitchen. "Waste" your time doing something productive.
... and where can I get one of those palm trees? It is lovely.
I think everyone who has left a comment so far should be ashamed of themselves. Most of you are claiming to be "Christians" while cursing at another person for creating a "tacky" website. Where has everyone's TRUE Christmas Spirit gone? I do not agree with making fun of someone's attempt to show some holiday spirit....please remember that one person's trash may be another's treasure. However, responding like a bratty 15yr old with tourettes syndrome doesn't get your point across or make you sound very intelligent.
All in all, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's!
take your happy holidays elsewhere. its merry christmas!
To each his own. That's what makes the America such an interesting place to live. I love it. There are people to laugh about everywhere...the Griswald's of the block (and there is one on every block thank God), the snooty uptight people that take life so damned seriously, the snooty uptight people who think "there should be laws against to many xmas lights", etc, etc, etc. If you can't have fun in your lifetime, what the heck is the point? You should move to some other super strict country and let Americans have thier freedom! Also, don't complain because you have to close the shades to get dressed because of the traffic. YOUR NEIGHBORS DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU NAKED EITHER...EWWWW! Your shades should be closed anyways if you are removing your clothes!!!
Have fun, be jolly, laugh alot, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy friggin New Year!!! LOL
I just want to said everyone of the pictures posted on this idiot website look good and creative. Christmas come once a year. What's next created a website and complaint about your neighbor front lawn not being cut. You never know if these parents did it with the help of their children, and if their children said it look good, than that all it matter. Who gave you the right to judge them. Our service memembers are dying left and right and kids without father or mother this holiday and you complaint about little shit like this. Give me a break. To my hudsband we missed you, be safe.God bless America service memebers.
the creater of this site needs to get a grip! It's Christmas for God sake! Yeah...maybe it looks tacky but after all this is a free country and people will do what they are gonna do with or without a wasteful site like this one.
I love that people are complaining about a site because it's complaining about decorations. Oh, the irony...
Anyone can make a site about anything. That's the way it goes, my friends.
Here is my opinion: your Christmas decorations are ugly and wasteful. See, we can all have our own opinions!
I agree that some of these pictures are tacky to me personally, but you need to let people do what they want to do. If people are decorating like the examples and it makes them happy then let them. It's their house they can do as they please. You need to learn to quit trying to control people because they don't do things the way YOU like.
I think that a lot of people at misinterpreting the site!
It is not out of hate. It is out of good fun.
Do you really think that this site is doing anything? Everyone on here is just complaining about this site. Do you not see that you are ruining the whole mood of Christmas? The people who made this site are trash.
This web site is hilarious! Please keep outing folks who have a poor sense of Christmas style and inflict their bad decor on the rest of us! Cheers!
Some people can't afford to go out and buy the perfect Christmas decorations every year. Some have their kids help decorate. Shocker, I know!! I guess we all just can't afford to have everything perfect with plain white lights. Get a life lady.
Who cares? At least they are celebrating Christmas! Who are any of us to judge? Did anyone here get a degree in exterior design?
With so many people not even doing anything for Christmas, why start making fun of the people who are showing off their Christmas Spirit. Everyone here should be ashamed of themselves for making fun of other people. The owner of this site should really be a shamed. This is no better then high school kids making fun of someone. Isn’t it time to grow up and act like adults?
u people are all losers....have some christmas spirit u doosh bags let people put up lights. you are all the neighbor hood bitches who always complain about everything
Wow, I've never seen so many personal attacks on a random blog that yahoo features. Most of the trolls are from the same i.p. address posting multiple times i'm sure. I think this site is great, and yes, most of these "decorations" are all from China, so I guess decorating at home with giant inflatable Santas is in fact sending money to a country that supports little in terms of human rights. Merry Christmas.
The only offensive lights that I saw were the lit reindeers hanging from a tree proclaiming to be shot and bleeding. These lights are beautiful and indicitive of how these people see Christmas in their hearts. Who are you to make fun or ridicule? Do YOU pay their light bills? I live in Florida where we don't have a white Christmas, so these lights no matter how many or how few really bring the spirit to all of us. We take our Grandchildren out every year to "see the lights". Have you ever watched a childs eyes light up when they see them? Sure there are 3 or 4 Santa's who's to say too many are too many? Where is your Christmas Spirit? Why did you find this website necessary? You could have spent your money on a more positive note like..Vote for the most spirited house or something alot less demeaning. Why don't you take another look at these photos' you have posted mocking people who love and embrace the season, this time...look with your heart and not your eyes. Maybe you will see and hopefully "feel" differently. If not then Madam you need some joy in your life. Maybe then, these bright, multiple colored blinking elegantly or misplaced lights will bring a smile to YOUR face instead of a tear to those who's homes you posted.
As tacky as you think these houses are this website is much more tacky!
It's hysterical that one or two people are leaving all these anonymous and not so anonymous comments, spending lots of time to do so, only to tell this blog's owner to get a life and to stop wasting their time posting. Maybe those commentors need to follow their own advise?
I am enjoying this site. But then I have a sense of humor.
I have mixed feelings about this site. I do think SOME lighted Christmas displays are wasteful and getting out of hand. I'm sorry but I think it's just another symptom of the mindset we have as Americans that the world is here for us to use as we please and damn the consequences. On the other hand, I find this site, well, tacky as well. It's just unseemly to go out of one's way to make fun of people who are decorating their homes out of a spirit of celebration and goodwill. And this most recent entry making fun of elderly people who take the time to decorate their homes and remain a part of their community, well, that's REALLY tacky.
ps People need to lay off the anti-semitism in their comments and better yet, not drag religion into this. It doesn't help your point at all.
Just as it is your right to choose how to decorate your house, it is my right to choose whether to laugh at it. And the majority of the commentors I notice are too wuss to even use a nickname and instead hide under anonymity. All the uptights saying this site should be 'banned from the net' are huge hypocrites. They support people's freedom to decorate their houses but not freedom of speech and of the press. Oh, and having christmas spirit is not the same as having 10 blow up santas on your lawn. Buying tons and tons of lights and decorations and trying to outdo your neighbors isn't Christmas, it's consumerism. Try not to confuse the two. If Jesus was around today he would probably be shaking his head in disgust at all of the resources wasted on these useless objects. Resources that could have been spent bettering the lives of others.
Wow- what a chore some of you gave me. I am an advocate of free speech. I have left a lot of mean-spirited comments on here, and allow anyone to tell me what they think of the pictures, the site, etc. What I do not condone is the use of vulgarity and racist comments towards myself, the owners of these homes, and the other people enjoying and commenting on the site. I reduced the comments on this page alone from 71 to 40. To anyone asking me to get a life- I suggest you simply find another website. There are plenty of sites out there to keep your attention, and plenty more deserving of your anger and hatred. This has always been meant as fun, and if a Yahoo story talks about laws being changed to make this illegal, and then links to my site- it doesn't mean I want Christmas lights to be illegal. I love them- I enjoy "hunting" for them, and I have a great time getting pictures from around the country, and the world of other people's catches. If anything on this site came across as rude- I urge you to look up the definition of rude before posting rants that could never be read on TV or the radio. TackyChristmasYards.com does not attempt to ruin Christmas, does not attempt to belittle those who do these lights- and if anything greatly supports and encourages is. Many photos on the site are sent in by the home-owners themselves. Feel free to comment more- but because of this single thread, and the time I have to take to keep TackyChristmasYards.com rated at least PG-13, I have enabled comment moderation. I will not censor people who wish to voice concerns with the site, as you can plainly see I have not done that yet, unless there was something way out of hand with your comment. Have a Merry Christmas, and enjoy the lights in your area for the next week or so before people start to take them down. They will be missed.
Good for you!!! If you want to look at prim and proper lighting look for that website...I enjoy looking at the over lit houses and my son sits on my lap and points out all his favorite characters! COMFORT AND JOY ... maybe different for some!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
