Wow. That is ugly. Wow. There should be a law against things like that. There are really no words to describe that. Just wow.

Some of these are very nicely lit houses. Shame on you thinking you are judge and jury of what any household's particular taste is and SHAME for claiming that nobody collects snowmen or Santa Claus.

Yard displays are FOR FUN, to spread cheer, and with families, the kids get an input...so if they want Santa to celebrate the birth of Christ with them then that is up to the kids/family who is living there.

"just a fun challenge to find the most violations." This site is not fun, and NOT in keeping the holiday spirit by picking on people who have spent many hours working on THEIR yard to it the way THEY wanted it and thinking you are somehow better as are those who sent in pictures so you can stand in judgment as you people are the only RIGHT ones....which of course is not true, God judges all of us. Not any one human is allowed, nor should be proud of being this harsh on fellow mankind.

There are NO RULES as to how anyone decorates their yard. You want to share, try a MY OPINION OF TOO MUCH, etc. would be more appropriate as there are no violations as there is no right or wrong.

Sign me irritated in Iowa!

I totally agree! My husband and I have for MANY years driven around and looked at people's yards and thought "OH NO >>>> REVOKE THE LICENSE!" This is hysterically funny that someone has actually come up with a blog about this! Bravo! It's like fashion...some people have it and some just don't look in the mirror before they leave the house. Nothing mean intended...it just IS WHAT IT IS!

Thanks for the funny postings! I'm forwarding this to others...

I really think this blog is awesome! My family and I often drive around town also and comment on the lights of others. Our expression is usually "Griswald House" or "cheese and garden shop". the fact that you have posted these pictures just shows how "GRISWALDY" some folks are and don't realize it. I enjoyed looking at the postings and reading your list of violations(as I was laughing.....) Thanks for sharing!

Great job--love the idea! Have a few violations in my own neighborhood.

I wish I knew about this earlier I would have sent in a pic of my neighbor's house. It scares me.

I reckon they are all great, good bad and ugly, which of course all have their turn at being 'eeether'/ either depending on the observer.
New Zealanders are beginning to be more creative with lights and its always an exciting novelty to see, especially a few in the same street.
Thankyou all you wonderful artists of the world. Nevermind the armchair critics keep up the great works.

I love it! You ARE spreading cheer, just by making us chuckle (or wince) at the amount of work put into them. None, however, even come close to the one we have nearby. I'll be submitting photos for next year's project. VBG!
On Christmas Eve we pile the family into the vehicle and drive around trying to find the most "memorable" one. Folks start decorating the day after Thanksgiving (if they bothered to take them down from the previous year), so we start collecting locations to visit pretty early on December. It's a great family activity, everyone has a specific house they MUST show us, and we spend the evening laughing at some of the most insane decorations imaginable. My fave? This year it was the house with "NOEL" written in lights across the whole roof. Talk about screaming!
Thanks for the brilliant blog (pun intended).
