It's AMAZING!!!
If creativity were a violation our occidental civilization would be definetely crappier...
To what does this site aim??

Doesn't anyone care about what kids will thnk when they see this. I'm sorry this isn't funny. It's wrong.

Quit being prude's this is hilarious, and there are a lot of things children shouldn't see, I doubt this is the worst

Anonymous said...

oh.my.god.

Anonymous said...

this is morbid...not tacky....i like to laugh at a lot of stuff but i agree that they should think more about the kids that have to see that..although all the other crap on this site doesn't consider anyone else's feelings either its so tacky hah

Anonymous said...

Thats awesome! I love the comments from the ridiculously uptight posters. "What will the kids think?".
Well, hopefully their parents haven't sucked all the humour out of them and they'll have a good laugh at the absurdity of it.

Anonymous said...

This one IS tacky, however so is the owner of this site for starting such a blog! What a disgraceful person to demean others!

Anonymous said...

stupid and selfish.

Anonymous said...

sicko. Guess this person doesnt understand what Christmas means.

Anonymous said...

Fantastic idea! I would never have the guts to do it in front of my house..but hats off to the person that did! BTW most kids (especially little boys) like hunting and other "violent" activities, its harmless! I mean an inflatable G.I. Joe should be ponting a rifle at the deer..

Anonymous said...

Ha, Ha, Ha, It looks to me that it's grandma's revenge on the reindeers for them running over her. Slightly tacky but still too funny. As far as the kids goes. There's more stuff in the world to worry about with explaining to the kids then this display.

I feel the same way about this whole site. I wonder how many litle ones have cried themselves to sleep because hey see their house, and all their decorations, that they helped pick out and put up, here, being called ugly by some sanctimonious scrooge.

Anonymous said...

Funny and creative. In places like Chicago we don't see it, but in deer hunting areas, real dead deer hang in trees during hunting season. It seems it's a bit of a trophy but more importantly the meat needs to cool off. The concept kind of losses something on city folk who can afford to buy all their meat.

Anonymous said...

Yes, this is in bad taste, but so is this website criticizing people during the holidays, how mean of you. I suspect this is just to get reactions for some radio show. I dunno.

Anonymous said...

OH HOW I LOVE CHISTMAS AND ALL THE LOSERS THAT GRIPE ABOUT THE LIGHTS. GET A LIFE..I LOVE THE LIGHTS EVERYLAST SINGLE TACKY ONE IF THEM HO HO HO

their obviously white-tail deer not reindeer ..... mmmm mmm nuthin like a good deer roast for Christmas!! Gross?? Violent?? how ya suppose those turkeys get to the table??

I LOVE THIS ONE!!

Anonymous said...

FUNNIEST CHRISTMAS DECORATION EVER!!!

kudos on the site. if you're gong to put something up in your front yard, you better be ready for some constructive criticism.

seriously people, lighten up...

Anonymous said...

I think it IS funny. Children's video games offer A LOT more violence, blood, guns, etc than a set of lighted reindeer on display for a holiday.

Lighten up ....

Anonymous said...

Okay, horrible, but hilarious.

If a child is have such a reaction a little help from the parents will resolve it. If this reaction is a pattern ones child repeats I would suggest seeing a doctor regarding the child’s mental well being and for the parents to learn more about how to deal with and prepare the child for the things they will need to deal with as they grow through the phases of life. Explain what more then half the people find funny about this. Don’t leave the child wondering. Perhaps the root of problem is in the parent’s inability to understand it; hence the child can’t understand and resolve it.

To each his own. That's what makes the America such an interesting place to live. I love it. There are people to laugh about everywhere...the Griswald's of the block (and there is one on every block thank God), the snooty uptight people that take life so damned seriously, the snooty uptight people who think "there should be laws against to many xmas lights", etc, etc, etc. If you can't have fun in your lifetime, what the heck is the point? You should move to some other super strict country and let Americans have thier freedom! Also, don't complain because you have to close the shades to get dressed because of the traffic. YOUR NEIGHBORS DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU NAKED EITHER...EWWWW! Your shades should be closed anyways if you are removing your clothes!!!

Have fun, be jolly, laugh alot, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy friggin New Year!!! LOL

Anonymous said...

That's just cool. It's an ironic commentary on the whole idea of decorations. I like it.

Anonymous said...

ther was a real deer hanging from the porch acrost the street the other day and my children did not see any thing wrong with it. I think it is hilarious and people need to lighten up.

Anonymous said...

Nice and no worse than seeing the real thing.

Anonymous said...

I had to laugh, but then again we are deer hunters in our house. As for traumatising kids, my 5 year old walked up when it was on the screen and said their lights fell out of the tree so I doubt kids will really get it.

Anonymous said...

glad we're not going there, what will my lexus think?

Great display! My kid's think it's funny and they're vegetarians. Some of you folks need to take the pickle out of your behinds and smell the roses...

Wow! To all and to all a good night!!

Grandpa.....lol.....revenge.....lololol.

Anonymous said...

This is amazing! To all of you who deem it "unwanted" for your children's eyes are ignorant. Think of how tv is these days. They show actually blood not figurative lights symbolizing blood, which if the child is young enough will not even know this is supposed to resemble blood, but laugh that the decor might have "fallen out of the tree." Don't criticize people for trying to put a little humor in other people's lives.

Anonymous said...

Why did the deer cross the road? Actually..... it didn't! It kinda got caught in the headlights!

Anonymous said...

Okay, this is the neighbor you make note to avoid on Halloween...or maybe that's his holiday. ^^

Anonymous said...

wooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww. i CANNOT believe that GRINCH started criticizing the parents. wow. how rude! why don't u go ahead and comment on me, too? i mean, really. it is SO not the parents fault if the kids (by kids i mean from 0 to 4 YEARS OLD!!!!) are terrified... if they even notice what it is, i mean. because if a THREE YEAR OLD sees it and DOES realize what it is, she or he will be corrupted for WEEKS!!! I BET u don't know how many hours a 2 or 3 year old cries constantly. They stay up all night and scream and cry and then "Mommy" has to comfort them. and i bet u'd change ur mind a little if u had to stay up with him or her. Please, have a heart. Thanks to all the others who have stood up for this cause. Merry Christmas

Anonymous said...

omg! That is beyond bizarre, disturbing and inappropriate. The holiday should be about preserving life

Anonymous said...

Creative and funny!
Not quite as funny as the anonymous people who think the site is terrible but are still looking at all the pictures and posting messages.......
but definitely more creative.

Anonymous said...

WOW!!! That is freaking amazing. I will join in the ranks of those who want to copy this. I love it!!!!

This is funny as hell

Anonymous said...

Wow! If there is this much disagreement over something as small as two reindeer hanging in a tree (which by the way, my daughter found as funny as her parents did), I can only imagine what the coming election year is going to bring.

Get a life, laugh a little and live longer.

Anonymous said...

Wow. I'm pretty sure the owners of this site like the tackiness. Tackiness is funny and it's what makes Christmas unique in America.

Anonymous said...

I think that if I was driving around, specifically for my baby to see Christmas lights..that this definitely would not be a funny thing to see & it would kill the Christmas spirit. And I am no prude. I havent even gotten through one page on this site & Im already leaving it. Thank goodness that I did not bother to register. This is not funny but tactless.

Anonymous said...

BTW, I dont allow anyone in my family to watch any violent or disgusting shows on TV. And no one in my family plays video games. There are many things in live that are more enjoyable even entertaining. My child at the appropriate stages in life will be taught about good and bad & the consequences of each..especially about violent people & the people who think being violent, rude, and inconsiderate is ok.

I can't stop laughing. Seriously, I haven't laughed this hard in years. Not only does my stomach ache but my laughter is but odd little wheezes now.

It reminds me of a local family who has two fairly large deer figures in their yards that they like to dress up occassional. They put them in blaze orange for the duration of hunting season, for instance.

Was this decoration found in rural Indiana? A classic!

---------------------------
I've got children that young and children that are older and they are not afraid. Just because a few children might be afraid of it doesn't mean that all children are afraid of it. After all, it's just a lighting display. If a parent makes a big deal out of something when the children are around then the children will end up thinking it's a big deal and will act upon it. Children that are very young can feel the emotions that the parents gives off and that is what causes the children to be frightened because if Mommy is upset about it then they think that they should be upset as well.

Anonymous said...

yep, this is hilarious. My daughter thinks this is hilarious too. Gosh, did anyone see what people had in thier yards on Halloween? I bet thier parents still brought thier kids trick-or-treating even though there was gore and monsters in every yard! LOLOLOLOL

To the aonymous person who has kids who are 2-3 y/o and cry all the time, perhaps you should question why they are crying all the time. I am a mother of 3 kids, ages 2 to 13 and none of mine have ever cried all the time and I am the one with the 5 y/o who thought the deers just fell out of a tree. There is no little kid that little who is going to see that picture and think it is dead deer and blood. It looks like the deer are hanging and the lights fell on the ground. 2-3 y/o kids are not going to think they are shot and dead. My 2 y/o is scared to death of the blow up lawn ornaments, I think it is the size and the blowing motor sound. OMG they are scarey, people are sick for putting them up because someones kids are affraid of them. How dare they, lol. If your kids are affraid of the supposed dead deer hanging maybe you should ask how they know they are dead. Hmmm, could it be b/c mom/dad told them that what it was. Nahhh.

Apparently the owner of this site has frequently and liberally deleted comments that she does not agree with. I have read several posts (some I agreed with, and many I did not) that have since been deleted as if they never existed.

Anonymous said...

Little kids are not so easily traumatized, for crying out loud.

My Dad brought home a deer when I was six years old and hung it in the garage. We were city folk and it was the first time I had seen a real wild animal up close.

My sister and I went out to check it out and touch it. We did not cry or freak out. We thought it was pretty cool.
But then again, my parents weren't interested in raising a couple of hyperventilating ninnies.

The venison burgers Mom made were sooo good.

They're just lights, making fun of everybody else's stereotypical reindeer lights, for crying out loud. Get over yourselves.

Anonymous said...

Yes, the owner has deleted comments because they were full of hateful/and or racist comments. This site is supposed to be fun and humorous, and too many people feel it is a forum to air their own hateful views. Hate is not wanted here!

"I feel the same way about this whole site. I wonder how many litle ones have cried themselves to sleep because hey see their house, and all their decorations, that they helped pick out and put up, here, being called ugly by some sanctimonious scrooge."

Sanctimonious? It doesn't get more sanctimonious than a "think of the poor children" type comment.

What exactly were you expecting at a site called "tackychristmasyards.com". Who put a gun to your head and forced you to check it out?

Anonymous said...

OMG!! That is sooo funny...

Anonymous said...

Oh so ridiculous people squealing "What about the children? Doesn't anyone care about the children?" about some silly Christmas light displays. For generation after generation, children grew up on Grimm's fairy tales, and didn't seem to be scarred for life. Ever read the originals? Not exactly sweetness and light. That was part of the process of providing children with the coping skills to deal with the harshness of real life, and it served children better than the diet of Disneyfication they get today. All over the world there are children growing up in war zones, I think AMerican kids can handle a couple light-deer hanging in a tree.

Anonymous said...

If yor kids are traumatized about two FAKE, LIGHT-UP Deer (Make that "Reindeer") hanging from a tree, it's probably because they are worried that Santa won't bring them presents.

Boo Hoo. Your kids aren' thinking about Jesus when they are scared of the light up deer. Besides, why did they look at this site anyway?

Anonymous said...

I am the biggest animal lover on earth but I found this hilarious! What a statement about what Christmas has become. I see it both as a commentary on the times and free speech. You may not agree but they still have a right to it. As do people with their tacky houses and many of these homes looked like the trashiest Wal Mart in the world threw up it's holiday section. What fun. If you don't like people being made fun of stay off the site, don't watch the Comedy Channel, and don't read most blogs. But if you don't think these houses are (wonderfully) tacky, maybe you should look in the mirror for the person in the room lacking taste. :D

In Pennsylvania, this is a common site - except we use real deer cut open from breast to butt. People, this is life. Children see this all the time. How many of you are going to buy your child or grandchild a video game with shooting, fighting, and killing? How about the latest shootem-up movie with a bit of sex thrown in too! Kids see stuff like this all the time. Even my homeschooled children did. Biggie deal.

Personally, I love this display and this site. You have to laugh a little everyday and quit taking things so seriously.

I love it.. obviously Grandpa's revenge

Re: kids. Do you live in America? Do your kids watch tv? Movies? Play video games? Yeah, thought they did. Now be quiet while your kids go play Halo 3.

Re: spirit of Christmas. If you think the spirit of Christmas is outlined in gaudy Christmas light decorations, perhaps you need to rethink what Christmas means. Consumerism? No. Obsessive use of electricity and the shoving in the face of one's religious beliefs? No (and go watch An Inconvenient Truth).

I'm not religious at all, but I don't mind tasteful light displays. But putting so many out that your lawn can't be seen? Using so much electricity that costs more than what some people earn in a month or more, in a third-world country? Come on, people need to remember Christmas is not about showing off, but about reflecting on and celebrating their beliefs -- and that has nothing to do light displays or inspid over-consumerism.

BTW: this is the best holiday lights display I've ever seen. Creative and funny!

When I was a wee tot, my parents drove me by a house that had a Santa stuck in the chimney. Just the legs and boots were showing. They explained to me that it was not real, but it was too late. I was so traumatized that I resorted to a life of crime from age 5. I am serving a life sentence in the state pen (I am now 12), and I get psychotic if my cell mate dresses up as Santa around the holidays. At least I did with the last 15 cell mates (may they rest in peace. mommy i didn't mean to do it). I blame my sordid past on that vision of Santa stuck in the chimney. *shakes fist in the air*

People, really ... lighten up and stop using children's welfare to justify your own hypersensitivities.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't tell what that display was supposed to be...kinda creepy...funny though

To all that wonder "what will the kids think?" Try explaining a REAL DEER hanging from a tree, in the neighbors front yard. These are fake deer (even more so than those plastic yard art ones), and odds are they won't get it unless they are hunters. If you don't like it don't look. Otherwise laugh, because its funny, and be glad Santa isn't there holding a rifle. (that would be twisted, and very wrong)

Anonymous said...

ok, I am laughing my ass off right now... that is funny shite.

Anonymous said...

If you find yourself offended by a bunch of plastic lights that are formed in poor detail... go volunteer, read your kids a story... get a life!

Anonymous said...

Wow, that is awesome.

And for all those kids who would get traumatized by lights...for crying out loud, it's not real. I can understand if it was real, but it's not, and if parents let their kids get scared by fake stuff like that, then they're gonna grow up to be wimps.

Anonymous said...

The meaning of x-mas, what the kids should or shouldn't see, this site being tacky! Come on people if you all really cared about x-mas it would be celebrated in december not start it in July buying a bunch of crap for yourselves and celebrating yourselves in the name of Jesus, kids see worse things then this all the time, and this site is great! Lighten up, if this site was so tacky and if you really gave a crap you wouldn't feed your curiousity with looking at this site to begin with.

Anonymous said...

Q. What will the children think? A. The children will think, "Those aren't real reindeer."

Anonymous said...

My kid's too busy blowing away people on Halo 2 to see the lights!
I've seen a deer getting an arrow in the chest (in Xmas lights) here in deer country (Wisconsin). We take our lives in our hands driving with so many deer every day. And my pesticide-free venison is lower in cholesterol than your free-range chickens!
Tacky lights! Tacky lights! It's Christmastime in the boonies!
